CHAMPAGNE
Delamotte Brut Non-Vintage
- Delamotte is a sister house to Salon Champagne, which is famous for its Blanc de Blancs
- Located in the Le Mensil area of the Champagne region
- It is considered as an insider’s champagne for wine lovers
- The NV is 2004-based, with lovely warm toast and vanilla flavors
- The wine is Chardonnay-focused, exhibiting rounded and fresh taste
Marguet Pere et Fils Elements 11 Grand Cru NV
- Marguet has a long history, dating back to 1875
- Now run by the 5th generation, it is situated at Ambonnay
- In 2009, this house has started biodynamic farming
- It is Pinot Noir-focused, 63% vs Chardonnay 37%
- Grapes only sourced from grand cru and premier cru vineyards
- Regarded as constantly refined and elegant
Godme Champagne Brut Millesime 2008
- A relatively young and upcoming house in Verzenay
- Founded in 1930 but has been catching international notice
- 50% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir
- The wine is young yet intense, with notes of citrus
- Wine drinkers like its balance between maturity and freshness
BORDEAUX LEFT BANK RED
Les Pagodes de Cos 2011
- The second wine of Cos de Estournel, St. Estephe (ranked 2nd Growth in the 1855 Medoc Classifications)
- Les Pagodes was first released in 1994
- Compared with other Bordeaux Left Bank wines, it has a high proportion of Merlot
- In general, Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 40%
- It is described as bearing beautiful and silky tannins, with sweet hints of berries and other fruits
Les Tourelles de Longueville 2010
- The second wine of Pichon Longueville Baron, Pauillac (also ranked 2nd Growth in the 1855 Medoc Classifications)
- Les Tourelles displays characters of Pauillac wines, concentrated and rich
- Grapes composition: Cabernet Sauvignon 65%, Merlot 35%
- It bears velvety tannins, abundant blackberries with hints of Asian spices
BORDEAUX RIGHT BANK RED
Chateau Magdelaine, St. Emilion 2011
- Its history can be dated back to early 1800’s
- Has been a St. Emilion Grand Cru 1er-B class till merged with Chateau Belair Monange in 2012
- Made almost exclusively from Merlot (90%)
- Won 93 points by wine critics
- Taste showing raspberry, sweet tobacco
- Fresh and bright finish
Chateau Latour a Pomerol, 2011
- Some wine lovers consider this similar to Petrus in style
- Sometimes, it is regarded as a shadow of Chateau Latour but in the Pomerol region
- Also a property of Jean Pierre Moueix
- Made from 90% Merlot, with rather mixed texture – juicy yet dry
- Slightly toasty or earthy, with good length in finish
Mas Des Mas Jean Claude-Mas "Maury" Cru 2011
- Bonquet: Dark fruits, spices
- Palate: Rich and velvety with smooth tannins and sweet middle palate. Good length.
- Cellaring: The wine can drunk young but will evolve wonderfully all along the years, and the strength of its youth will give place to a wonderful bouquet of coffee, cocoa and fruit marmalade. If kept in good conditions, the wine can be cellared during 20 years.
- Food pairing: Serve at 10-12 degree celsius. To be enjoyed as an aperitif or after dinner, with your deserts, especially the chocolate ones! strong cheeses.
